At Alight Creative, we take great care to minimize what personal data we keep about you. Almost all app data is stored locally on your phone, tablet, or computer, and the data is NOT stored in your account. However, there are a few exceptions, and this article explains how to find and manage your data, as well as how to request that it be deleted.
What data does Alight Creative store?
We only store data in your account if you have signed in to Alight Motion from the My Account screen.
When you sign in the first time, your account is automatically created. When you have an account, we store:
- Your display name and email address, if given to us by your sign-in provider (you can use Google, Facebook, or Apple to sign in). If you sign in with email, we also store this data.
- Your membership status (whether or not you have an Alight Motion subscription).
- Any project packages you have shared using the project package sharing feature in the app.
Of course, if you contact us by email, we also store the content of your email and any attachments.
How do I check my data?
You can check your account data in the app by going to the My Account screen. This screen shows the details of your account, such as your display name and email address, and also your membership status (whether or not you have an Alight Motion subscription at the moment).
Project packages that you export are accessed by the link that is generated when you choose to share a project package. Nobody can access a project package without the link. We cannot help you recover individual links, but if you make a Right of Access request, we can provide an archive of all of the raw XML and media in your shared links. To request this information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Please keep in mind that you cannot import this data and it is for your records only, and cannot be imported into Alight Motion. Also keep in mind that it can take up to a month for us to respond to such requests.
Help! I shared a project package link that I didn't want to share! We get it, this happens. We're working on a way to let you manage and delete links you've shared. In the meantime, you can send us an email with a specific project link you want deleted from your account, and we can process this for you.
How do I delete my data?
If you would like to delete your Alight Motion account, you can go to the My Account screen and tap the > icon next to your name. Tap the ⋯ icon at the top right of the screen and tap Delete Account. Please follow the instructions shown on your screen to proceed with the account deletion process.
To request the deletion of your data, or for any other privacy-related questions, please contact us at email@example.com.
Please note that there may be some cases where we cannot delete some of your data. For example, if you have an active paid subscription, we might not be able to delete your account until your subscription term ends.
When you contact us, please make sure to use the same email address you use for your Alight Motion account (the one shown in the My Account screen app).
