What are Weekly Prompts?

Weekly Prompts are a source of inspiration, and a way to get your video noticed by the Alight Motion community!

The prompts are intentionally vague: Make a video that's your interpretation of the week's prompt, then see how other members of the community were inspired in different ways by the same prompt.

Participation is simple: just make a video and share it to social media with the appropriate hashtags.

From time to time, we will select particularly outstanding, creative, informative, or otherwise interesting videos to showcase. To be eligible, you must include all the required hashtags and follow the other rules outlined below.

If your video is selected, we'll repost it on our social media channels (or maybe even in Alight Motion) for everyone to see!

How do I join?

Participation is simple! Just look for us on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Twitter, or YouTube, and find out this week's prompt. Then, make a video based on the prompt with the hashtags from the prompt video, and post it to one of those services, and wait to see if you get selected!

How are videos selected?

Each week, members of the Alight Motion team will scan the internet for relevant hashtags. We'll be looking to share videos that ARE:

(somewhat) based on the prompt
posted publicly with the correct hashtags (Hashtags will be in the prompt video each week)
well-made, interesting, and/or funny
suitable for all audiences (we want our whole audience to enjoy them!)

We may NOT be able to share videos that contain:

content that you do not have the rights to use in your video (because we may have issues sharing that on our channels)
profanity, nudity, realistic violence, or anything generally not nice
content made with other video editing apps (unless stated clearly in the post)

Is there a deadline?

There is no deadline! We will be searching for videos online weekly! If there is no prompt in any particular week, feel free to create a video for an older prompt! You'll still have a good chance of being seen!

Can my content be shared directly in Alight Motion?

Yes, it can! If we've shared your content to our channels, you also have a chance to have your content seen directly in Alight Motion's Home tab! This step is completely optional, you only need to fill out this form if you want to have the chance to see your content in the app! Please know that we may not post any content we receive.

- Make sure the account is public, so we can find the post!
- Please don't post to your story. We may only be able to check weekly, so we'll miss any stories posted!

Make a video pin on Pinterest!
- Make sure to include both hashtags!
- Make sure the pin is public.
- If video pins are not available to you yet, please use another service! We're very sorry!

TikTok

Make a post on TikTok!
- Make sure to include both hashtags!
- Make sure the account is public.
Wait to see if you are selected!
- If you have been selected, you will see your video under our "Likes" on our TikTok page!

Twitter

Make a video tweet!
- Make sure to include both hashtags!
- Make sure the account is public.
Wait to see if you are selected!
- If you are selected, we may retweet your video!

YouTube

Post a YouTube video!
- Make sure to include both hashtags!
- Make sure the video is public.
If you are selected, we may share your video to our community tab!

If you do so, please make sure to put the phrase "Weekly Prompt" in your email body, so our automatic responder will be understand your message and deliver the correct reply.
